Case Study
City College of San Francisco
i-TEN assisted the City College of San Francisco with the development of a secure web based facility management system to help conform to ADA compliance guidelines.
i-TEN created the web based system using ESRI ArcGIS server enterprise and SDE with Oracle database for external users. Using the web based application; students can search for many features, including rooms, buildings, points of interest like gyms, handicap accessible buildings and rooms, handicap ramps, etc. It also gives the users the ability to search for instructor and professor locations for classes. The system creates detailed reports about rooms and their facilities with a picture of the room included in the report.
The work also involved GIS data development including mapping all the Plan drawings for all floors of each building at the College's seven campuses. i-TEN also mapped all of the underground and overhead utilities located on the campuses. The utilities required extensive document research to identify facilities and gather information about the utilities. The features were attributed with the information gathered from the document research and data collected during field investigations.
